They say they won't do it, but the very idea that they even *thought* about it makes my skin crawl.
I doubt this was really about taxing people, but ultimately about being able to track every driver in the U.S., for whatever reason their tiny little stone hearts desired.
Mark my words.

The good news is they say Obama has thrown this idea under the bus. But it is still being proposed in at least one state. Obama throws Transportation Secy nominee’s mileage tax plan under bus At least for now. You'll have to watch for it to show up in some much sneakier way.
The bad news is, this is the way they think, and it doesn't bode well for freedom in this country.

This just echoes that comment by one of Obama's cabinet guys who said, "We're going to do things we've never done before" to get the economy going. Scary. And, yes, like Rose, this administration is definately sneaky. It also uses the language to pull the wool over people's eyes. Argh.
